The "brown tube" is a type of wire, it connects to the screen.

Edit: I think its called ribbon cable, or something like that.

I have two gameboy advances


V1 Gameboy. I got two of them and both still work.

Damn things an inch thick and as big as my hand.
If your going to have a Gameboy, Do it right.

I have a GBA and 2 SPs, one is charging and the other is on my side cabinet.

Oh yeah, I also own a Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, two Advanced, SP, two DS's, a DSL, and a 3DS.
Just about one from each generation.

Only the GB Pocket doesn't work. A battery exploded in it. I need to clean the contacts..
