One thing I wish is that congressmen did not make as much money. The job should be almost voluntary, so money can't be a big influence on them.

I disagree. I mean it should be lowered but it needs something you can live on. Otherwise the only people that would run would be the ones that could afford to make no money. The pay of a congress member also doesn't affect lobbying at all.
