Author Topic: Ability to leave servers feedback, showing how bad/good a server is in the list.  (Read 907 times)

If it resets every day, it's almost worthless. If it doesn't reset often, people could change their server to something good and still have a bad rating or vice versa. I don't think there's an elegant solution.

Sure, why not? Can we make it constructive, though?

since everything is open source there would be ways to fakely uprate servers and stuff, some form of encryption would have to happen

I might be able to make this, and you could rank server and view it on my website or on the serverlist in game!
You could also rank players (but maybe not, because we have some friend groups that might feel strongly about their friends)

but, you get the gist, using a website to post and stuff could come in handy i guess or something
(more rambling)

The ratings should display the host's server rating of the current day, as well as their rating of all-time.

This way, a bad server yesterday won't grossly affect a good server today.

And players could see if a server is hosted by somebody who has a history of hosting good or bad servers.

What if the majority of the players that join a server like Tezuni's server give it five stars for no reason?

You'd be giving the power of rating to every player; making it just as bad as the player numbers in most cases.

You would have to give this ability to only certain people.
