please, lock this and go away.
Instead of just posting to be rude to him and insult, how about actually contributing, giving him a chance, and helping him out?
Since this is obviously your first clan, here's a few tips:
- Don't go around "swagging" about your clan/how great it is to other people. Boasting about it will only make it easier to fall apart. Keep yourself and your clan humble. Realize that you may not have the highest skills out there, and remember to accept that you are limited by that. But, you always have room to grow in skill.
- Don't bother with "Clan wars" or any of that nonsense, because it will get you disliked by others quickly, and other clans might possibly blacklist you.
- Don't advertise your clan all over the place. Keep your clan's business to the clan thread.
- Don't go around trying to recruit people (eg. going to random servers or PMing forum/IRC users asking if they want to join), it is generally a bad way to gain members because they will most likely not be 100% interested in the clan and will not be loyal to it, and/or may leave it quickly. They might even betray you. Truly good members are the ones who are coming here to the forums or clan servers looking to join a clan.
- If people on servers see your clan tags or come to your clan server and ask about it, tell them and let them know what you do. But don't go on about how cool it is or how it's the best. Fast turn-off for potential members.
- Listen to constructive criticism about your clan. There are people out there who want to help you. Even if they are additionally saying rude comments to the side, their advice is generally helpful and you should take it.
- If people are insulting you/your clan in the manner as some of the posters above me, ignore them. They want hurt you, and they want to see you fail. Do not listen to them; prove them wrong. Show them that they are only wasting their time trying to insult you.
- Clans are a professional business. Treat it as if it was your own company. Don't act like an idiot on other servers or do stupid things to cause trouble, because YOU are the main representative for your clan and your own choices will decide how everything plays out. Don't make it a personal issue; remember that although you are the leader, your clan is not there to give you power, but to give everyone in it an enjoyable time.
- Blacklists are important if you have people who are deliberately trying to be a clan nuisance, but remember to use it wisely, and very carefully. Don't go around blacklisting people just because they are badmouthing your clan. Don't make the blacklist based upon your own personal viewpoints of who you hate; blacklist from your clan's professional viewpoint.
- Members are very important! They help manage the load of responsibilities of having a clan. But choose your members wisely, because having people who aren't able or willing to contribute or be loyal as much as you require is a bad thing and a waste of time!
- For people to join, they should make an application, like one does for a job in the real world. Set out some guidelines by which applicants can show whether or not they have the skills you are looking for in a member.
- Effort, professional attitude, and leadership skills are the CRITICAL KEY to making sure your clan not only survives, but thrives. You will have alot of responsibility. Organizing clan events, checking up on your members, and representing your clan are some of the many things you will have to deal with.
- If you ultimately cannot handle the stress and responsibility of keeping your clan going good, it is best to simply shut it down until you decide you are once again ready. Failures happen so that we can learn from them. But don't simply give up; persevere!
Hope it helps! Good luck!
