Author Topic: MAD FATHER: Anime Horror Game  (Read 5451 times)

Mad Father is a freeware horror game created for Mac and PC only,
So far, Mad Father has won my collection of games as the best one. One of the best games I've had on my list.

THE STORY:
Aya Drevis (the main character you play as) is scared as she is sleeping: She can't stop thinking about her mother, Monika Drevis, which has passed away a year ago from a unknown illness. On Aya's adventure to check on Father, she finds monsters and other victims from Alfred Drevis's (i dunno if there is a plural, father) experiments with unknown things. Do you have what it takes to see these tragic horrors?
DOWNLOADS:
There is two downloads because: I should have stated this before, but this game was originally japanese. There is a translation, though. There is also 21 gems in the game you can find in the game to unlock the third ending, known as the True Ending. Can you find em all?
Original Japanese version: http://novice2.web.fc2.com/game/mad/index.html
English translation (by vgperson): http://www.vgperson.com/games/madfather.htm
You need to check this out, because the website has sources of one of the greatest game musics in my opinion.

(NOTICE: I may start Blockland Forums history here because this can possibly be the first gaming topic of Mad Father.)

Ah, your ending summaries are kind of spoilers, loved the game though.
Thank you for reminding me. I will be removing them spoilers very shortly.

why do you have to call it an anime horror game

i'm definitely just being picky because of my allergies and you're saying that because of the art style but it seems like a strange thing to be one of the main adjectives associated with it

looks p well-made regardless

because when i see the phrase "horror game" on the internet i think of a game thrown together in unity

Exactly this. If the word "anime" hadn't been in the thread title I probably wouldn't have even touched it, not because I'm that into anime or anything, but because I would have expected yet another "go around collecting bits of things while monsters that aren't always that scary chase you" like Slender or SCP:CB.

The screenshots are giving me a sort of Ib vibe, I'll definitely check it out.

COPYRIGHTS:
I didn't make this game. I am only telling you about this great game. All rights go to the japanese person and vgperson for this game.
Thank you for reading!

This isn't really necessary.

why do you have to call it an anime horror game
because that's what the game is. It was made in JAPAN, all the cartoons are this stuff (well not really a game that's thrown into Wolf RPG editor)
how am I supposed to know what comes out from Japan?

Well, it gives you a Ib vibe possibly because:
Mad Father was created by the same person who made Ib.
YOU GET IT NOW? (Both games are translated into english, both had a original japanese version, as I listed)

both are horror games, and Ib and Aya have sorta of a similar appearance.

Why the hell do we need to argue about the topic? IT'S JUST A GODDAMN TOPIC!
Just play the game or just suggest me something about it?!?!

I suspected this so I checked myself, but Mad Father is made by Sen and Ib is made by kouri. So unless one of those is an alias of the other, and that person has two unrelated domains to host both games, that's wrong.

Oh, sorry.
