Author Topic: Anyone else get FPS lag on certain servers?  (Read 2088 times)

Do you have shaders running?
if so, intel is the problem, i think

intel graphics cards can't run shadows, period
the most standard ones handle regular shaders fine though

I don't have intel,
I have a Geforce GTX 660, 2gb.
Which I can play the games that have been coming out on.

Have to bump this discussion to keep it alive.
Any idea what can and would change the particle lag, ect?
Anyway, I downgraded to windows 7 64bit homepremium

lower the stuff in the option menu?

No no, that wouldn't work, this is a discussion, not a help topic.
Well, here are some reasons for FPS lag.
why do people have so much difficulty understanding that blockland is just going to inherently run worse than other games
the shadows have to be drawn in real time in each frame because EVERYTHING is a dynamic object casting a shadow, including bricks players and vehicles, not like in most other games where the environment well have prerendered shadows and lighting zones as one big object
Yes.
its probably, lots of bricks or lots of emmiters, even if you have a computer theres limits to the engine, and large amounts of bricks and emmiters will always cause lag, factor in player count, view distance, shadows

EDIT: the servers view distances and fog could have a factor too
Well, I have a good computer, luckily its not my computer.
Also, I'm still looking if anyone is like this.

um I was discussing... if your computer can't handle it theres nothing you can do but lower the graphics settings or get better a graphic card

Well, the prime problem with particles and shaders is the engine blockland runs on, it will run way different than other games because thsi:

Different things can cause frame rate drops.

1.  The server is dedicated, but hosted on the host's desktop, while the host is doing something else.
2.  The server is dedicated, but hosted on the host's desktop, and the host's computer is crap, their internet is awful or both.
THESE JUST CAUSE LAG, NOT FRAME RATE DROP
3.  You have shaders on whilst using a crappy graphics card, a high resolution monitor or both.
4.  Your computer is complete crap.
5.  Your graphics card is as old as computers themselves.
6.  ANY COMBINATION OF THESE FOUR THREE

This is just a small list.  There are WAY more possible factors that could cause frame rate drops.

I decided to do some cleaning.
lol you know nothing about this
half of these are wrong

also internet speed doesn't affect FPS
Why do people keep thinking FPS is related to anything but their own computer.
