Author Topic: iPad 2 screen is cracked. Should I repair it or get it replaced?  (Read 1533 times)

Recently my ipad 2 screen got cracked (more like shattered). The screen still works so I dont know if its just the front pbrown town or the screen itself (I'm starting to think the screen though because I cant feel the cracks). But I was wondering if there was a place to get it repaired for a cheap price (around 100 bucks. A bit over possibly) or if I could possibly replace it myself. If I was to replace it myself hiw much would it cost and how hard would it be? Would there be a big risk?

If you replaced it yourself, you better know how to replace things like that, I would repair it though.

Most of the time you can just give back the ipad to the reseller and they handle everything for you

Don't repair it yourself because if you mess up they don't replace your ipad anymore.

pls

The ipad 2 is 2 years old and I dont have applecare or anything. How much would it be to get it repaired/ replace it?

In my experience, apple products always have one bitchy-assed ribbon cable that I could never connect (it had to go in upside down on the bottom of the motherboard!) when repairing.

Try if you like, but get a heat gun to remove the screen so you don't have glass shards in your fingers.

Is there a place were I can get the dcreen replaced for a cheaper price then apples store?

If you don't have a way to just replace it for free anyways, that's completely irrelevant, if you do, do that then. But I've replaced plenty of iPhone screens and it's not difficult at all, if iPads are built the same way it's really no big deal, just watch a youtube video of someone doing it and it's a piece of cake.

Its far different from the videos I have seen. Its much more complicated.
