Author Topic: Kick Player Event - Super Admin only  (Read 823 times)

A event that can only be applied by a super admin/the host. Upon a player triggering it, he will be kicked from the server.
A way this could be useful is when you have a map that requires shaders to be on, and if a player has it off and you have a door that's seen with shaders off then he walks into the door, he gets kicked for "Turn shaders on!" That is a trap that could prevent people who turn off shaders on a map that should be played with shaders on, as having shaders off sometimes gives a advantage.

no. why would you kick someone for not having a computer capable of running shaders...

"trap" is not a good reason for making an event

this

not everyone has 3 GTX TITAN's or something in SLI
also, a map that only works well with shaders on is a bad idea imo, since the map probably has more possible issues if shaders are needed to help the map work/play well.

Because sometimes shaders are required for a game to work. If you can't run shaders, then simply, don't join servers that need them. Like on Chrisbot6's server, (that semi-horror puzzle map) there were multiple areas that are supposed to be DARK for a reason. Only minimum shaders were required for this, which everyone can run. So if someone ran around in those areas obviously seeing what's going on they were permanently banned. Simple.

This reminds me of my suggestion awhile back to kick players with shaders off.

I guess this works, with careful planning...

false
A: not everyone can run minimum shaders
B: minimum shaders is loving shade, not even shadows

just make the whole thing dark and brighten up the rest of it

It still boggles my mind why the forget is everything fullbright with shaders off?
Badspot, pls. At least use normal, pre-v21 lighting methods for disabled shaders.

A: everyone can run minimum shaders, as they don't enable shadows which are the resource hog.
B: it was a night setting with no direct light so shadows on or off made no difference.

it's exactly the same as pre-v21 lighting what are you talking about
