I have this exact headset. The mic quality is pretty great. My friends haven't complained about any background noise or anything. The actual hearing quality is pretty nice but the sound seems to leak through the headset pretty easily. So, if you listen to explicit music often, just be prepared to mute it if someone comes in your room. From a distance, you can't really hear it if it's over someone's ears, but if you get really close to someone, you can hear it as clear as day.

I wouldn't say it's worth $50, but I will say it's definitely worth its current price.
