Now when i'm waiting for games or whatever to load I can play with Microsoft's little gravity simulator and have it snapped to the side. Or if you're a friend, you can put twitter there or something...

Yeah, I guess. But imo metro apps look nicer (some look like stuff though), and you can also get this neat little overview of all the open windows:
