Hate the method all you want, since implementing it the quality of gameplay has improved and the number of random kills has diminished.
Also, you have to remember what it improved from. Before, your server was basically a DM. It has gotten better, but it's still just decent.
People can also just click the link and then scroll through it without reading, as said before. With the non-lazy method of manually checking players if they've read the rules, you can make sure that they have. I saw like 4 or 5 admins at your server, it shouldn't be a problem checking for players that are new to the server. Even I can do it when I am the only one administrating my server.
