This does get tedious after awhile, unless you're like me and have fun administrating MM.
Well, it's the best way to do it.

Hate the method all you want, since implementing it the quality of gameplay has improved and the number of random kills has diminished.
Also, you have to remember what it improved from. Before, your server was basically a DM. It has gotten better, but it's still just decent.

People can also just click the link and then scroll through it without reading, as said before. With the non-lazy method of manually checking players if they've read the rules, you can make sure that they have. I saw like 4 or 5 admins at your server, it shouldn't be a problem checking for players that are new to the server. Even I can do it when I am the only one administrating my server.

/redruls (name)

I don't know if clicking that link to read the rules changes anything in their /redruls information. I assume it doesn't.

And even if it did, you couldn't really check which sections they have and haven't read. You also wouldn't be able to tell if they just typed each command in instead of actually reading each section.

About TomTom's server, he was there when I played. And I didn't get mad or anything about the rules website. I don't really think it's a stuffty website either.
TomTom was giving out bans to RDMers and he kept the server going pretty well. It didn't get hectic.

Someone should make a topic explaining all the rules of mafia madness so you wouldn't have to read that huge wall of text while battling people chatting.

At my server, and I'm sure at other servers, you would still be asked to read the rules when you joined. Unless I were the one who made the topic explaining all the rules or if I read someone else's topic that explained them and approved of it.

Sorry, I just don't trust people.

Anyways, do you guys want me to make a topic like that^? That explains the rules better?

That would be nice. I tried to get a few of my friends into it but they couldn't understand it too well.
