Alright so, the main reason for this topic is because I felt like we
needed some Classical stuff in here, because today its mostly all "Swag,
Yolo, Bitches diamond hoes." So I decided to bring Y'all this Topic, it may
Seem a bit sloppy but it's the best I could do, Leave a suggestion of who
I should add to the "Links to Music." Thank you for viewing this
Megathread, and as always, Enjoy your day.

Well, fancy that.

There is a distinct lack of Stravinsky in this thread. I mean, he's not classical, but there's stuff from other periods, so forget it, I'm including 20th century stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGFRwKQqbk4 <Probably his most well known piece, The Rite of Spring.

I love classical music, and I was basically brought up with it. Liszt and Verdi are my favorites, Verdi's music has a lot more emotion. Also, have any of you ever heard of Horowitz before? In my opinion, he was the greatest pianist of the 20th century. His fingers are just amazing, and I'm afraid that nothing can be compared to him. I used to think Lang Lang could top him, but he is now performing less and less in concerts.

Lang Lang's interpretation of Gershwin makes me die inside.

Anyway, Horowitz was cool but he sorta went insane later in life and started sucking.

I thought Chopin was a writer? Different Chopin, never mind

Heh, To be honest I don't care if the topic dies so soon, I just made this topic for fun and for other people to enjoy, but it seems not to many people are interested into The beautiful Classical music that the internet has to offer.

How can you go through life without having that cultural misconception corrected...?

It is interesting to note how early 20th century composers are getting imitated by film score composers. Listen to some Shostakovich, Prokofiev and you can find themes which are imitated if not replicated in film scores.

Horowitz was brilliant. Horowitz was always insane, he had such severe OCD. Wanna know what he did with his meals? He demanded his maids to get him fish imported from Russia, and he had that done. Fish was shipped to him from Russia almost every day, he was never healthy mentally. It didn't get in the way of his magnificent piano playing though, he also had a great sense of humor. Lang Lang tries too hard to be a pop star.
