You are bleeding out fast, so you are desperate to take that pill. And if it kills you, you'll be dead a few hours later from bleeding out. So you may have only one choice to take the pill.
You take the pill, and feel very drowsy. Within a few minutes, you're out cold.
When you wake up, your eye is still scabbed and painful, but you can see (badly) out of it. You are thirsty and hungry now, and the blood has dried, staining your skin and clothes. You begin to feel very nauseous and throw up a few times, and you conclude that the pill worked as intended but was also poisoned. The chests are sitting as you left them.

You open the chest and find some delicious looking food! You're starving, so you dive right in. The food is delicious, but  you soon get food poisoning and feel nauseous again.

Ewww, the toilet is already full of solid and liquid wast- BLEGHHhhhhh.
You puke out all the food you just ate, and it does reduce your food poisoning somewhat, but you've already absorbed some of it.

The chest closes, but there's still a putrid smell in the air.

You open the chest and find what looks to be blue Powerade, but when you check the ingredients it contains hydrogen cyanide. There's also a can of soda, but the ingredients say it contains phosphine instead of carbon dioxide for the carbonation.
