Author Topic: I have a Gmod problem.  (Read 2341 times)

In Garry's Mod, the game will randomly crash without any errors at all. Help?

did you try to validate your local files?

this happens to me and most people on the steam community in Garry's mod. most of these crashes haven't been fixed yet which pisses me off since my game crashes to desktop at random with no error.

you can try validating files that might work i haven't tried that yet
or you can unsubscribe to addons that are known to cause problems

Can your computer actually run the game?

Post your computer's specs.

How?
Right click Garry's Mod in your Steam games library, click Properties, click on the Local Files tab and click 'Verify Integrity of Game Cache'

Then wait until it says "Completed"

If that hasn't helped, it could also be an addon that's either terrible, broken or may just be colliding with another addon, so you can try disabling all of your addons and see if anything happens, then try re-enabling them one by one and restarting your server after each one

Get it to crash again and go to
Steam > Steam apps > Common > Garrysmod
And find the latest MDMP file and upload its contents somewhere and paste it here.

This happens to me in sandbox, it seems to happen when I undo stuff but I'm not sure

Get it to crash again and go to
Steam > Steam apps > Common > Garrysmod
And find the latest MDMP file and upload its contents somewhere and paste it here.
How do you read those MDMP files? They're just a jumbled mess in Notepad

They read fine to me when I use Notepad ++.

EDIT: At first it's like this but this is only the top of the file:

But scroll down it gets to this, which is all the Convars at the time of the crash (and if you scroll to the bottom is gives a console log, which is what we're looking for here)
PROBABLE NINJA EDIT: The hell? Random second screen? I can't seem to get rid of that

I did it, it said it failed to validate 1 file.

It might be your computer. Get a better one.
