Author Topic: is this a good PC?  (Read 2998 times)

its alright I guess
but I dont get why you want overclocking ability so much, just get a locked i5 and a h87 board, save some money and put it toward a better video card. from overclocking you will not see any major improvements in gaming, while from a better video card you definitely will

overclocking is only needed when you wanna save money on parts.
the tiny bit you can even up hardware isn't even noticeable usually Lol.

Here is a build that comes in at $918, $82 under budget.

The only problem is I dont know if yours is better than omicrons. I dont now pretty much anything about graphics cards and processors.  And I dont know anyone who could act as a neutral party

I think my build is pretty much good for his needs, the GTX 760 is just fine. And the non-K version of the i5 would only be, what? $20 cheaper? A GTX 770 would be another $100. I also think the OP wants to save as much cash as possible, so I think mine would be most suited. But that's my opinion.

the non-k version is cheaper, h87 board is cheaper, no other CPU cooler. It adds up. yours is a bit cheaper but mine will be quite faster in games. you'll be able to even max out some of them

all computer parts are manufactured in asia/china. what the forget are you talking about

op, build a computer. you'll get best performance for the money
Oh stuff.
Everyone HAS moved their production to china.

I don't think it is a good one, I bet you could find better for less.

Hi. Welcome to the world, where have you been the last decade?

I made some changes to my list for you, it has a cheaper CPU and Motherboard. Also i forgot to originally add windows, so it went up in price. My fault.

Also my computer will allow him to upgrade in the future, the power supply is sufficient for SLI, the motherboard is much better and will allow him to do more over clocking and what not, and the CPU will get better performance in games like BF4, ArmA II/III, and stuff like that. I don't know if OP will play Arma but it's just a good example of a game that uses a lot of CPU, also over-clocking my i7 4770K to 4.2GHz on ArmA III I noticed much better game play, could handle for AI without lag and also have a lot of stuff getting blown up without lag.

My settings are all Ultra and a 7500 Meter (7.5km) Render distance. I get about 68FPS, and I usually do massive dogfights with tank wars going on below, so a lot of AI and action going on. I have a GTX 670 which in performance the GTX 760 has just a tad less performance than the GTX 670

why the hell do people answer questions like 5 pages late, after everyone else answered it 200 times over

Because they are too lazy to read.

Also I updated my above post.

Hi. Welcome to the world, where have you been the last decade?
A world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries... A world.. where anything is possible...

he'll still see more performance increase from a 4440 + 770 rather than from a 4670 + 760. op seems to not even know what overclocking is, and overclocking is generally useless in games, you'll never see more than a 10% fps increase even from really high clocks
