Author Topic: My new windows 8 PC  (Read 2033 times)

I'm not saying windows 8 is a bad OS, just that Windows 7 is better supported, runs better, runs faster, doesn't have that annoying start screen, and generally functions better if you're using a mouse and keyboard (as I'm sure most of you are). Win 7's only real weakness is touchscreen compatibility, which just happens to be Win 8's only strength. But if you have a touchscreen computer the choice is obvious.
umm

When I needed to use my moms laptop that had windows 8 on it, I loved it, wasn't slow, wasn't worse than windows 7, I used a mouse+keyboard and It was all around 9/10

in my own experience windows 8 is significantly faster

Windows 8 has significant enhancements over windows 7. One of the main reasons I got 8 and not 7 is because Windows 7's Mainstream support is ended on January 13, 2015. I am not going to spend $100 on something that is shut off support in less than a year. Windows 8 is brand new and its support lasts until January 10, 2023

I don't know what you're smoking, but I upgraded from 7 to 8 and everything is about twice the speed. Everything is just as compatible too.

In my experience, going to a completely different screen just to look at the start menu is hardly the definition of quickness or efficiency. I think most people who defend Win 8 either genuinely like it because they use the touchscreen features or just "say" they like it because they are in a position where they have to use it.

I doubt you're the first group

I don't know what you're smoking

I'm currently smoking cannibis, salvia divinorum and dipropyltryptamine hydrochloride. Cigarettes too but I'm trying to quit

I am at a loss for words after I read this stupid piece of text that you have conceived. Not everyone who uses Windows 8 falls under the category of 'touchscreen feature user'. Especially not the type of person who just says they like it because it is all they have. I love the upgrades from Windows 95, I don't care if it has a fullscreen window or not, as long as it is more efficient than what I previously had I am fine.

There is no reason for you to assume that Windows 8 is 'bad' and jump to the conclusion that the vast majority of the users who have this software installed only say they like it when in reality they only say that because it is all they have. If I didn't like it I would have returned it and bought something else, so please...leave.
