Author Topic: simcity now has offline mode finally  (Read 1375 times)

how is requiring permanent internet connection an antipiracy? It turned out that you could just do sp anyway all along and some folks went in and tweaked their way into offline-sp anyway iirc

The same reason most games single player or not require one.

Even blockland

That doesn't make any sense. If you're Valve, would you rather have the base title but not DLC or nothing at all?
he's kinda wrong.
ea doesn't want valve to sell the DLC, ea wants to do it themselves thought the ingame store. valve won't let them do that.

i literally quoted that exact post in the OP because it was the only relevant thing i found

that topic wasn't general enough for a conversation to open about offline mode so i made another one, quoting you to acknowledge that there was a post about it but it was one post in a topic where posting this would just spam it up with irrelevant garbage

Still a stuff game.

After a year they finally put in offline mode?

I owned SimCity since like April or May 2013, and it's been a good game. I love this update.

I owned it since it was released.

i still wont buy it
good. considering your name, i don't think i'd want to ever have the risk of interacting with a city published by you.

Maxis will never make the cities bigger. There are several posts on Reddit going into detail on why this won't happen (mostly cuz engine doesnt scale well). The modding community might be able to make it happen but it'd be a colossal engineering task.
