Author Topic: Computer keeps freezing  (Read 630 times)

When using my computer, it often keeps freezing, usually while playing games and i dont know why. It has been going on for months and I am beyond pissed. I have been emailing the company i got it from but theyre useless

Usually happens when playing games. Its not overheating, there is no dust problem. I have tried the following programs (advised by the company i got the pc from)
Memtest
HD Tune
Both came up with no errors. Is it a software or hardware issue? The only real option I have now is to completely wipe my HDD to see if its a software problem then send it off for repair

Just curious but what are your specs?

AMD FX-8120 Processor @ 3.10GHz
16GB Ram
Radeon 7770 1GB
750W PSU

It freezes on games that ran perfectly before. I've had it for about 15 months now

My loading bar froze yesterday on every server I went on, I restarted my internet and reset my wireless adapter and now it's fine, did you run any network diagnostics?

Its not a network issue, its a computer issue. The entire thing just stops

O then that's a little bit more serious lol

edit: when it's frozen are you able to turn caps on/off? If you can windows is still working, and it's hardware or applications that are making it forget it's self.

I had it earlier on a laptop before, it ran windows 7 home premium, it used to freeze after 10 minutes of playing BFH, when I installed win7 pro it stopped, it might be just a os problem

Well it's possible that it's a software bug. I wouldn't jump to hardware yet.
The only way to know for sure is re-install your OS. If it does the same thing then it's a hardware problem.

Aright, Im going to remove my hard drive and get a temporary replacement as soon as i can then, if anyone has other suggestions as to why this might be happening, please post it
