Valve should temporarily shut down Steam until the bug is fixed.

If it was really that much of an issue then surely they would've shut down the login servers so nobody was able to log on thus preventing their accounts from being put at risk, or is that just too much common sense for Valve?
This. It's obvious that someone is clearly taking the piss here, and if VALVe actually forget up that bad its their fault and responsibility to refund my account and everything on it in case it does get stolen.

I wish I would rather have not known about this. Now all I feel is paranoid.

You have to be really paranoid if you think they'll pick you from 5 million + users.
That or having over 2000 games.

Everything always happens to someone else

But people forget that to other people, you're someone else

That's not to say that people should be paranoid, though

I'm assuming you haven't read the steam TOS

yeah I'm surprised valve hasn't shut down steam temporarily for this.

although I'm going to assume people will use this to try to steal accounts and their TF2/Spiral knights/Dota 2 items.
meaning people with more high value stuff will be targeted for this.
I have like 2 unusuals so I'm worried if I would be considered a target.
