I am trying to host a server on my Mac.
Not a dedicated one or anything, just a server.
People tell me that when they join they time out.
How should I go about hosting?
The Port Forward tutorial doesn't really make sense to me.

Just google "port forward mac airport extreme". You'll need to forward port 28000.

Just go to this site:
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
Find your router manufacturer, the model and then Blockland in the list of games.
It gives a step for step tutorial for your specific router
AWESOME :D
