Keep your snipers alive. I have a sniper with a plasma rifle and it kills everything.

Like, i can be on the other side of the map, and still have an 85% chance to hit with a critical hit average of 15 damage. So i can basically one hit kill almost any enemy, and if the enemy isn't in cover i can take another shot. There was one instance where there were like 10 aliens within view, and i killed 6 of them and had to reload

It does start to suck when 75% of your recruits become snipers, though.

3 snipers, 1 assault, one support, one heavy. you can swap the assault for a S.H.I.V.

With this squad setup, i haven't lost a single person. I keep the snipers in the back and they one hit most everything, the assault gets up close and kills most things in one to two hits, the support is the healer. And if I'm using the shiv then i can have it move in first to scan and detect enemies. It's worked fairly well for me so far

So I got another 80% off Enemy Within... and my original account I used never did get XCOM, only the other one.
