so if you don't know how to cook, you can't say food tastes bad?
yeah the whole "you have to be a part of us to disagree" mindset is completely ridiculous. there's probably some kind of term for this anomaly but i don't know where i'd begin to look for it.
i think what would actually make some sense is "you would appreciate the finer points if you were a part of us"
for example, a normal gamer might not notice all the little gems of game design in the things they play, but a game designer could easily pick up on nice little trinkets throughout the game, which can lead to a special kind of appreciation that you might not normally experience.
