Author Topic: Windows 7 (64-bit) Install Disk says CPU does not support 64-bit  (Read 1307 times)

yeah Pentium 4 500 series aka 32 bit
windows 32-bit will do just fine

IMO, if it came with XP, then that's the best thing for it.
100% guarantee from blockzillahead that windows 7/8 will run fine and faster than windows xp

loving bitch I can't afford to buy a new computer.
Stop stuffting on me for not being rich.
dude, you're screwed until you scrap up enough money for a new one
sorry
YOUR COMPUTER IS NOT FOR GAMES

Oh my god.

I just had to bury my Dell Dimension 8400. I owned mine for about 10+ years. How the forget are they still out there, polluting the wild?

I had to swipe a ATI Raedon x1300/x1550 from another Dell office machine I owned just so that it could run the most basic games at a consistent framerate.

I do not pity you, mate.
Lol, he said he tried to run Blockland on it under Linux. Seems like it was destined to fail for more than just one reason.

OP, your computer is not for games. I recommend either Windows XP or Lubuntu if you want to continue using it for other things.

I'm running Optimized games, I don't plan on playing CoD or BF, I have a console for that. I stick to games like Blockland or Just Cause 2. Until I get a job and earn enough money for a new PC I probably won't like to play high performance games on the PC. Those are just my current interests.

I'm not stuffting on you. I'm telling you that you need to find some way to get an upgrade to a decent PC.

Tell your parents about the situation, or maybe try and do a lot of chores that you get paid to do.

I used to be in your situation, but you have to trust me; it is a huge hazard to be operating those old machines in this modern day. The simple fact of the matter is that they not built to handle anything more than simple word processing and Internet browsing applications from their time period.

Well then Lubuntu won't work as well for games as XP because it's Linux based.

That leaves XP. Or if you want to do what BZH said, try 7 or 8. I personally think neither of those will work as well as XP on your hardware though.

hes screwed either way because the computer is major balls. but windows 7 and 8 are optimized up the ass compared to xp, they'll get the most performance out of it, but that's not saying much

I'm just going try to get a new PC then.
