Well a few may know what an Optiwand is in the swat. It's just a tool that has a camera right at the end of it and it can be used to peak under doors or peak by the walls it can only reach a limited distance.

Optiwand model:

You don't have to do the display on the blue computer (only if its hard) otherwise just make the camera of the player set under the door and to look inside the door.
Simple model and script.

why not request the Corner shot? Same idea but with a Grenade launcher or pistol at the end...

this seems like a good idea, i can't wait to see it if it ever gets made.
Oberführer Hawt approves.

what a bad post

It's a good idea, but more complex to make. I would stick with Optiwand, it can also peak through corners. Pointing a grenade launcher at a suspect would freak them out probably causing the hostage to get shot. I rather peak than throw a stun grenade and arrest the suspect.

Could make it a bot and mount it to a player, then when they fire have the players camera switch to the tool as well as looking around and set a bot to control the player so they can still move. It's a possible idea, however having a little screen on it isn't so much, as I don't think it's possible currently for a player to have two camera objects.

A cornershot would be cool as hell but you couldn't make it well in blockland. Messing with the gun's muzzlePoint is a bad idea as far as I know and there's no rendering to texture so even if you pulled off the muzzlepoint thingy you wouldn't have a working camera anyway. I think you could just have the player's camera moved to a convenient position though.
