Author Topic: Playertype - Giant Mecha Suit (From Legend Of Korra)  (Read 4000 times)

If any of you have seen The Legend Of Korra, you probably know what this is, if not then let me explain it to you in the simplest of ways:

Its a Giant Platinum Mech Suit with a cannon that fires a giant purple laser mounted onto its arm.

A look from far...

A look up close at the cannon...

I had the idea after seeing Pompmaker2 had made a Eva01 Playertype (Though buggy) and though this could actually be a thing maybe.

Yes, yes it could.
Though I am unsure how to make the laser inbuilt to the playertype instead of a separate weapon.

It could be a vehicle like kaje's mechs

It could be a vehicle like kaje's mechs
But those use projectile weapons
I still don't know how to make raycast weapons like lasers fire from vehicles or bot vehicles
We would need a scripter
But if it's just the model, I could help with that very easily, if I find time

:O I missed out on the last season! Didn't know it had come out because it's not on air anymore(just online). Must watch!

It could just be a weapon that causes the playertype to play an animation and fire a raycast based projectile.

it could be a weapon or just code based

there is certainly a limit to how big you want to make something before it starts lagging everything

Man, it's so weird for me to see such piece of equipment on a series like this, probably because I used to watch the original Avatar instead.

There could be a limit of only one of these being able to be used, or make it admin only?

it depends on the scale, if you were to make it to scale to that picture and lets say the houses were the demo house
you would probably drop to 5 fps

Funny, because when Hydra had his private Godzilla addon, that didn't lag up. Made hunting tiny blockheads on terrain maps fun. And it was easily just as big as the mech shown in the image.

Huge things don't slow you down THAT much. unless your computer is utter garbage

I think it just has to do with the amount of faces being rendered on a model that would slow someone down, as if someone intends for a large ass model they'll probably add more faces so it doesn't look like stuff.

Let the individual server hosts deal with that. Only things that should be restricted to admins only are admin tools, like the Destructo-Wand.

On the off chance someone actually tries to make this and gets as far as the weapon, I'd advise not making it a raycast weapon. Raycast weapons are typically accompanied with projectiles to carry their visual effects, and projectiles can only go so fast. Something this big will presumably be firing over a long distance, so if you use a raycast setup for it, you're gonna see an explosion in the distance long before the projectile gets anywhere near it. Projectiles should be all you need.

OR you have too much detail or is high poly on the mech
