Magicmaker
Magicmaker - on steam
Quote
Magicmaker is a spellcrafting-focused platformer/dungeon-crawler where you can be the wizard you've always wanted to be. With over 2,000,000 unique spell combinations to discover, powerful artifacts and charming environments, Magicmaker has something for every playstyle.

Magicmaker is a side-scrolling "spellcrafting-focused platformer dungeon-crawler" developed by Tasty Stewdios.
It was put on Steam Greenlight a while ago, and is now released on steam.

Basically, you're a security guard for a magic school, and you go around different randomly-generated levels, defeat monsters, and collect materials to empower your spells, wand, and robe, all while completing random tasks for the people you guard.

There's at least 25 materials which you can power yourself with, and 20-ish artifacts in which you can use in levels to aid you, such reviving you once per level or allowing you to jump really high.

It makes you feel overpowered.

I gotta get this right loving now

Holy stuff this looks awesome, im getting this right now

Seems p neat but id rather coax someone into buying it for me.

played it a while ago while it was free. pretty nice, but it gets dull fast

wow i forgot this existed

it looks really different

i bought it. not very fun. the art is poopie and good luck finding anything good the first few levels. i haven't got far enough to a point where it's not just SHOOT FOR 1 DAMAGE and they throw buckets of weak enemies at you

oh and the most annoying thing is that all the levels have the same stuff

younfinish the first level on the highest diff, get grade a loot, and the second level starts from ez and you get grade f stuff again

you're supposed to play each level at low difficulty until you've powered up enough that you can destroy everyone, then you move on to a higher difficulty, where you get higher grade materials and you power up again, and so on.

then soon you can kill 300 health enemies in a second

I like the new graphics. I played this when the last thread was active: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=219825.0
Making insanely overkill spells was fun for a bit. (See the last pages of the that old thread.)
