What command and conqure game should I buy?

There are a lot of command and conquer games and I would like to know what is the best one I could buy. I loving love Real time strategy games and I like the idea of command and conquer, so which one should I play? And does command and conquer have a Free play mode? where you can play deathmatches and all that?

Generals: Zero Hour is hella fun, but so are the Red Alert games.  One of my favorites is Yuri's Revenge.
