Garry's Mod add-on suggestions?

Simple. I've recently started using Garry's Mod and am trying to acquire some recommended or popular add-ons.

Note: I do not have CS: Source or HL2. I would like to get them in the future but can't because I don't have a PayPal/gift cards and can't download games on home internet.

You could download content for GMod Tower and get on their servers. It's like having a whole separate game in Garry's Mod. [edit: Some parts of GMod Tower does require models, materials, sounds, etc. from CS:S but it's optional, you'll just get error models and checkerboard materials at those parts]

Note that this mod is in development and causes gmod to crash for many people (I solved this by disabling all my add-ons and game content but I would not recommend the addon as of right now because of this, maybe when the author fixes it)

I haven't crashed with the mod before. Just small lag issues.

• Player Avatar Customiser 3 (PAC3). customisation system that works sort of like a 3d modelling program. workshop version is slightly outdated, recommend the github version
• TDMCars or SCars. use one or the other, but not both or else your loadtime will suffer greatly.
• SProps. good selection of building tools to expand upon the default building blocks.
• gm_excess_islands / gm_excess_construct. maps from like 2006 that are still ridiculously good for servers today
• gmod13_hotels (i think that's it). good map with lots of secrets, useful for sandbox, roleplays or general forgetery
• Hoverboards. good timewaster, fun to fly around on. PAC3 outfits are not shown when using a hoverboard.
• Simple ThirdPerson. an interesting little third-person mod; operates from context menu. lets you modify the camera's angle among other things.
