Gmod new computer troubles

I'm on XelaNation purge server and I just got a Lenovo g50 and when I try to buy a door by pressing f2, it won't let me, can I get help

Have you checked your key bindings?

Or if your keyboard has an F-Lock key, make sure it's on

function keys are secondary on newer windows 8 laptops that mainly use them for vol up/down etc by default

you have to hold the fn key between control and windows key and then press the f key you want

stuff sucks, but you can disable it on startup by accessing your bios and turning action mode keys off under system configuration

i dont think your laptop keyboard has a seperate f lock key; if this is it:

yes? just like you have to hold shift you have to hold fn while f lock and capslock toggle on and off

that keyboard doesnt have a f lock key to toggle the functionality of f keys so you have to hold fn or disable the "feature" in bios

are you guys dense or something?
