good or bad?
500W isn't good but it's sufficient if you aren't using some pretty heavy duty computer hardware. you'll definitely want to upgrade though if you plan on adding something like a second video card.
the power supply you bought is not modular, which is generally considered inconvenient for cable management and airflow because most users will have more cables than needed for their machine.
likewise, reviews say that this power supply is prone to failure, but that's a pretty common complaint for all types of computer hardware. people are more likely to review something if it comes dead on arrival than if it didn't and worked as planned.
all in all, I think you got a pretty good deal for what you purchased.
