With Superkart Gamemode almost finished, a sort of power-up system has high potential. Mariokart is a good reference- you drive through a special box, you receive a randomized power-up, you see which power-up you received at the bottom of the screen (preferably an image of a rocket or laser rather than text), and you simply click to use it. Power-ups can include anything from boosts to rockets, lasers, or land-mines that you drop behind your vehicle.
Notes:
- Projectiles from power-ups should always go in the direction the vehicle is facing- not in the direction the player is facing.
- pick-up boxes should be able to disappear for a while after being picked up.
- Another idea is to have an animation of a rocket/laser blaster mounting onto the superkart whenever the power-up is used.
