Author Topic: Hostage Mini game  (Read 1430 times)

I thought it would be cool if there was one team called Recuers who have to retrieve the Hostage, while the Captors repel the Rescuers. I think this could be  done if it was a modification of the TDM mod where the Captors and Rescures are individual teams, and the hostage(s) are a another, seperate team. But since they would be people playing "Hostage" so they wouldn't be able to hold weapons/drive vehicles, only passengers etc. And the Hostage(s) would be bound to a brick so they can't run away, while the Captors aren't looking. The game would end when the Hostage reaches a designated "Safe Zone". Kind of like a one-way CTF game with a human flag.

EDIT: Oh, and in regards to the brick bound idea, a Rescuer would free the Hostage but destroying the brick or stepping on a plate or something like that. Anyway, I thought that that it would be pretty awesome if played in a large scale map like Ghost's House.

uh, but would the hostages be played by players? because if i had that part, i would be really bored... :O itd be good if they were just bots that follow you...

its almost like capture the flag with multiple flags on only one team...

Other people can edit the .tdm files, they're just like .cs files or Trader's .code files.

So, it's like this?
- Two Teams*: Captors and Rescuers
- One Rescuer is selected as the Hostage - New uniform and no weapons
- Hostage is 'Tied' to a brick, cannot move.
- If the brick is destroyed or Hostage is touched by a Rescuer, Hostage can now move
- If hostage gets to a safe point or brick (Round End + Swap)

*The Leader uniform of Rescuers is a "Hostage"

What happens if the hostage is killed, does he respawn at the 'Captors' base? (as hostage again)

It also sounds very similar to CTF and Siege...

I started making one a while back with bots as civilians and then one team terrorists and the other SWAT, I got lazy and didn't fix some bugs.

Hmm maybe if the Hostage was killed,he could either respawn or the game would end, cuz in real life, if the hostage dies, well, you FAIL  :cookieMonster:

It'd be better if you just made the hostage spawn in a room with a door he can't open. This way, you can still move around and have a chance to escape if a Captor enters the room.

good idea. then put a Wii in the room with the hostage so he can play while hes waiting to be rescued/killed
