Author Topic: Minecraft-like shaders  (Read 3240 times)

Before you go all mad on me, I know Minecraft doesn't have shaders.

However, mods exist to where they have shaders.

Things that looked like this:

would be pretty damn awesome in Blockland.

Sadly, I don't think Torque could support such high quality shadows and lighting, not even outside of modding.

What do you guys think? Even if this didn't work, would it be cool, and better than the shaders we have?

NOTE: These would not be the only shaders. You can revert back to regular BL shaders.

I think Demain created smooth shaders for Blockland, but even on the best of computers it would give people like 5 fps

man I can barely run shadows now let alone all of this stuff

this would require bedpost (or addon developer) to push torque to its limit, which i think was reached with smooth shaders

wowzers that looks really good

but the question is how well does that minecraft shader thing run

actually decent if you have a pretty good PC
even with a PC like mine it runs ok depending on what shader you choose

i get 60 FPS on a 730gt with SEUS ultra shaders

iirc there are some really restrictive limitations to blockland's shader support, so a lot of these things would likely be difficult/impossible
