I'll probably get the 970 not because I hate AMD but I just buy things from nVidia anyways so I know what to expect. And true enough 8gb is not necessary for 1080p. My room is also pretty hot and AMD cards tend to use more power and expel more heat. So reasons being based more towards convenience is the reason why I will be getting the 970.
