i would like something that isn't just for slapping separate clips together like window's movie maker, but i'm not really willing to spend $100~ just to edit videos either
pls help

somebody gave me the full version of camtasia, but you can get like a 30 day trial and it's pretty good.

Good or free. You can only choose one.

that's a pretty silly statement considering paint.net exists

We're talking about video editing. Not image editing.

what specific features would you like

The new Fantastic Four was made in Windows Movie Maker

what specific features would you like
less restricted video editing (e.g, movie maker only lets you cut in certain amounts iirc), multiple audio tracks, sound importing, exporting in mp4, and not having exported videos take up a gb for 2 minutes is really what i really would want, anything else is sorta just extras

you could try using Blender
(yes, the modelling tool)

exports videos in mp4, allows importing sounds and image sequences

try sony vegas trial. Lets you have as many audio and video tracks as you want. Easy importing, just drag 'n drop in the program. Fast and easy exporting (aka rendering)
Imo best video editing software and p easy to use.

I use shotcut personally. Its free and has lots of great features.
