Author Topic: Why does Comcast have to be so god-awful?  (Read 1784 times)

charter is going to buy time warner, which I didn't know at all, but it looks like it hasn't actually gone through yet
I really hope your service doesn't go stuff, I mean the TV service is really good, although the Ui looks like something from 2002, but the internet for me is disappointing, I prefer FiOS's 50/50 speeds over having 10 extra megabytes a second any time.

Why did you go to comcast in the first place?

I use a comcast spin-off. Midcontinent is a really nice company, they've been great. Lots of midwestern farms in my region also get free optic fiber lines, regardless of their ISP. My friend who lives on a pig farm gets better connection than I do sometimes, and I live right next to my ISP.

i always love how every thread about internet always turns into people flaunting their speedtests

My girlfriend's parents moved into a new house and they're having trouble getting their internet running because the old tenant had unpaid bills to Comcast so they've shut down service to the address, even though they have nothing to do with the old person's bills. loving idiots.

No such thing as a good ISP. I've never had any real issues with Comcast myself though, only problems my network has ever had have been weather related or due to my own hardware.

but our isp is pretty good
I've noticed little to no downtime, minor slowdowns and steady speed throughout

I have Comcast, and I frequently get blackouts. We have ordered 5 different comcast people, all of which dont make a difference. Gotten better modems, wifi boosters, and then got this area thing enhancer. I still get wifi blackouts.

No such thing as a good ISP.
Well there's google fiber.  Oh wait it's in under 20 cities.
