Author Topic: Which direction do you build your windows?  (Read 1626 times)

flat side out, flat side in means that the windowsill is for some reason deeper on the outside then it is on the inside

To be honest, the default window should have flat parts on both sides, as that's how most buildings are in real life.
I tend to do 'flat outside' just as it breaks up a potentially full flat exterior wall.

He might be talking about a brick with a pane, though.

Is it bad if I never even noticed a flat side?

you can just build that

it's a couple plates and a couple 1x1x5s

I know that, but it gets annoying if you want to make a small window you can still see out of, like in a 2x1x2 space. The sides (idk if it's pane or not) will look to bulky compared to the actual window, unless that's what you want.

yeah but then that's not the 1x4x5 window brick, that's another brick entirely

Nono, think of the cross section as a capital I.

Wh- ooooooh, ooooooooh.

im almost certain that that exists too

it's like those fins from the lego space sets, i'm pretty sure it's in a brick pack somewhere

I know for a fact there's those old fins like these:

But does it exist in the fully-framed window form?

I've done it both ways depending on what I'm building

i meant to vote for the second one whoops
