Author Topic: Special Event_filmbots?  (Read 838 times)

So far I've come together a pretty good plan and I think this actually might work.

Now the event will rely entirely off of this mod here. It can be named Event_filmbots or something like so. After developing games for a while on here I feel we're missing a "cutscene" feel.

What will happen is, working like the regular filmbot there will be new commands such as /eventstartscene and /eventstopscene. All the movements filmed through those commands will be saved directly to the BRICK under eventscene1, 2 3 etc. Once this is done, the scene can be played through onactivate, onplayertouch and so on for example OnActivate > Eventfilm >Play >1. No special camera angles are required for viewing the scene. THE FILM SHOULD ALSO BE SAVED IF THE BRICKS ARE SAVED, which may be a challenge.

I think this may be really good for tutorials, presentations and/or cutscenes even. Is this possible?

Event implementation is already on my to-do list.

My plan is to save scenes to the server per client. You will record like normal. Then to play back a scene, you'll use something like "onActivate > Self > playScene > 1,3-5,8". This will play the specified scenes of the client who owns the brick, even if they aren't on the server.

Saving the scenes to the brick does sound interesting though, especially if ownership of the brick is lost/changed... I'll keep it in mind.

Awesome! I'd like to get in touch with you regarding this implementation, if you can please add me on steam here
