Many of the servers that are shown in the server menu are occupied, but have a --- ping.

Some help would be greatly appreciated.

What's the problem?
Are you having trouble joining the servers at all?

If I try to join the servers that have the --- ping, it comes up with this:

Yeah, I have the same issue.

As you can see 8 of those have --- ping, yet I am able to join 7/8 of them.

Are you sure that all of the ones with --- ping are not able to be joined?

I've tried several different servers with --- ping and none of them seem to work.
but now this is happening:

nvm now it's just back to trying to connect to the ip

I think it simply means your client was unable to get a response from the server.  It could mean that you will not be able to connect, or that the server just- didn't respond to your ping.  I've been able to connect to a server with a "---" ping before.

Those are one of the rare people who actually need to port forward.

I had to do it.

It mean's they used UpNp to host, I get the same problem. If its your friend tell them to port forward

Any --- servers mean they are either down or they didn't port correctly. Yes, some people can connect to those servers, I'm guessing the server is allowing certain ports to test its ping and allow them to connect, but I don't know that much about networking.
