i have a lot of ideas for a game and i'd like to have your feedback on what you think of it! there's no name for it yet so i'm open to suggestions there.
basically it's a 'retro'* 4-player couch 2d rpg game where you fight monsters and get loot, like a lot of other games. however, the gimmick is that everyone's level is the same. each item everyone has equipped will contribute to everyone's stats. say p1 is a wizard and has a cool wizard hat on that gives +5 intellect, and p2 is a knight who has a knight helmet that gives +5 vitality. both players get +5 intellect and +5 vitality! your INVENTORY, however, will not be shared with others.
*by retro, i mean it has pixel art graphics. i cant make models. besides, i like pixel art more anyway
the levels / dungeons are procedurally generated, except for some special dungeons. at the end of each dungeon, you get a grade. the grade depends on how much damage everyone took, damage dealt by players, and how much time the higher the grade you get, the more chests you will get at the 'bonus section'. if you get an F ranking, you get nothing. the highest grade is an SS, and if you obtain it, you get 5 chests. from best to worst, the rankings go SS, S, A, B, C, D, and F.
at times when you're walking around the overworld, you will encounter an event. i really have a terrible way of explaining things, so i'll just have to give an example:
You come across an old, abandoned house. What do you do?
1) Go inside and investigate
2) Leave, there's probably nothing inside there anyway.
3) {Use FIREBALL to burn it down.}
4) {Your agility skill must be 100 to do this}
The choices you choose make a butterfly effect on the outcome. If you explore, you'll have 3 choices on where you can go, and then other choices from there. The choices in brackets are unavailable unless you have a certain stat, spell, or item. If you play on multiplayer, each player has to decide which path they want to take. Whichever choice is the majority vote will go through. There is a 10 to 15 second time limit to prevent these from taking too long.
there are some other ideas i have, but this is basically the gist of the whole thing. if you want to hear more of my ideas, i'm probably going to put up a website or something with more information. your feedback is very welcome! thanks for reading
