If you exit your server, and it is not a dedicated one (as in, server is a console and only that), it shuts down. I am guessing you unknowingly exited your server and then went to see your ping.

Before you ask how to start a dedicated server, you can start it up with steam, problem being you will probably not be able to open another instance of the game to enter it.

lol no marios that's dumb

i've gotten the issue before, something to do with portforwarding i think

Most likely an issue with port forwarding.

Port forward. It helped me.

Go to 192.168.1.1 or, if that doesn't work, routerlogin.com. (If you are prompted with a login screen, enter "admin" for the username, and "password" for the password.)
Go into port forwarding, and create a new entry with the ports that you stated in advanced options on Blockland.

For more info on this, visit http://blockland.us/portforward/

It's a non dedicated server by the way, and Mario, i never left the server to see the ping.

You need to port forward. That's what I did.

Port forwarding is definitely what will fix it

Here is a detailed explanation on how to port forward:
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/

Just find the model of your router (the box that connects your internet) and follow the instructions.
