Author Topic: how to directly download stuff to your external storage space on wii u?  (Read 691 times)

can't download the latest smash update because there's not enough internal storage space. how to download directly to my USB flash drive?

go to system settings > data management > move/delete data

your usb stick should be plugged in, if it can't recognize it then format it (there's an option for this on the same menu)

it's already formatted and it's recognized by the wii u. i have every other accessible piece of data on my wii u stored on this usb stick but for some reason, there's still not enough internal storage space. what i want to do is directly download the update to my usb stick because it'll only fit on there

huh it's working all of a sudden. no idea what i did to make it work but i'll keep this thread open just in case

Describe in more detail. Don't add to the mass of unhelpful google search results for people troubleshooting and finding stuff like "I'll PM you the fix" or "nvm got it working".

if i knew what i did to make it work, don't you think i would have posted what i did to make it work?

Did you turn the Wii U off? turn it on? plug the drive in/plug it out? Flash drive manufacturer? Capacity? Simply wait?

I doubt you blacked out and forgot everything. Maybe the solution is to just wait and the problem solves itself.

This thread does appear in the Google results when searching for "How to download stuff to your external storage wii u", don't know how much google results are influenced by my browsing history though.
