If there's anything I've learned from statues it's that you can't trust people who build statues

Seems anti climatic, like if the statue is supposed to represent happiness or something they could have done something much better, like a person playing with their dog :P

Oh man it would be so cool to get a selfie with that statue, almost as cool as pretending to hold up the tower of Pisa!

this is the bigger issue

i see nothing wrong with the statue, except that the city paid to make it instead of giving the money back to the taxpayers

some poor archaeologist is going to find this statue buried under sediment some day, assuming it isn't made into something else first.

although now that i think about it, it would probably be the find of that archaeologist's career.
