Some residents of Sugar Land, Texas, say they've been left with a bitter taste in their mouths after a city-approved selfie statue was recently erected outside City Hall.

The statue features two smiling women in a slight stooping stance, with one holding a cellphone, arm outstretched, to snap a picture of themselves.

Some residents took to social media to voice their outrage after word went out

It was a complete waste of tax payer money. Has selfies gone too far? That we are now creating statues to represent selfies?

yea "selfies" just seem like a way to be insecure about yourself so much that you have to take pictures of yourself constantly to reassure yourself of how you look
they're influencing stuff too much

okay this is actually kinda funny

We have entered the "Degenerate Age" where our current Generation (Also to be known as the dreaded "Millennial") has usurped all Commonsense mannerisms to install their new doctrine of selfishness and tomfoolery...

...Re share if you hate kids

Some say congressmen had 2 dead hookers that they encased in bronzed to cover up their death.

O hey I live near there

Oh no a single statue of two women having fun was put up better complain about it

when will tony make a topic complaining about how handicapped he is

i'll take a selfie with the girls taking a selfie lol

This will be so dated that our grandchildren won't even understand what it is. I mean, an iPhone 6? Come on! Get with the times, Sugarland.

Puhleeeese, that is clearly NOT an iPhone 6. The camera and flash holes are obviously aren't in the right place. Looks like a Samsung SIII with a case and a flip cover to me.

This actually proves your point lol and this is sarcasm yes
