Author Topic: Friday the 13th: The Game E3 2016 Gameplay  (Read 696 times)

It seems like no one posted this, but I'm going to right now, I guess. This game has been in development for about a year by a small indie group named Gun Media. Funded by Kickstarter, this game is set to release in October on Steam (PC), PS4, and Xbox One; with a beta for the backers in August. This trailer is only Early Alpha gameplay, STAGED gameplay, obviously. Closer to release, I will (or someone else will) get a megathread fired up.

dead by daylight looked way more fun, but then again this is very crappy gameplay video where they just showcase very basic mechanics instead of actual gameplay

Dead by Daylight looks really awful imo. Same objectives everytime (activate five generators) and escape. Only way to kill the survivors is by hanging them on hooks (seriously?). This is an early alpha build. Dead by Daylight is in beta. They were only showcasing the overall premise of the game with what you could do and all. They haven't even scratched the surface of the full game.

You have multiple ways to win in this game. Four by fact. Each time you play the game, it feels different. Hell of a lot better than that horrible excuse Dead by Daylight puts up.

The fact that people are bashing dead by dead light because of starbreeze is stupid. I got this from the steam discussions of dod.

Each time you play the game, it feels different.

how would you know, it's in alpha have you played it?

i got to be honest, both of these games are the kind of garbage i will never buy or play for myself but for the little i saw of DbD it's the perfect stream/youtube fodder and made for rather entertaining content even in it's unfinished state

i read DbD will feature several different killers with unique kits and playstyles (havent seen them), i find it hard to imagine how much different stuff this will create with the "incarnations" of jason from different movies as far as i can remember hes mostly a dude with a knife hunting down teens in them. maybe theyll do something with the "two entirely new designs".

and what comes to those hook kills it was funny seeing how the players would try and save each other, outsmart the killer or just play to be the last man standing to entirely skip the generator mini-game it created interesting dynamics and entertaining content, im worried seeing how easily jason dispatched those kids that would lead to a lot of downtime for the player who was eliminated and tilting the game to the killers advantage, but its impossible to say so early and with so little of gameplay footage
