Author Topic: Weapon recoil system in Blockland  (Read 896 times)

Short & sweet, how would I go about coding a recoil system similar to CS:GO's?

.cs and example of desired pattern down below.

The best you can do for weapon recoil im afraid is using impulse explosions for camera shake, and a animation from the gun. Actually pushing the camera upwards to resemble muzzle climb like in CS:GO, Battlefield etc, is impossible from what i remember. I too wanted this feature and i talked to gravity cat, a well known scripter about it. Heres what he told me on the subject.

Sorry man :(

I know it's possible thanks to the BF3 weapons pack and this thread,

But i'm not sure as to how I would be able to execute the task of placing that in my code, and that's what i'm trying to figure out. If you know any scripters that are willing to help me figure this out, please PM me their BLF names or any other forms of contact. Thanks.

Sgt A Walter's weapon packs used the mechanic where when you're shooting, the camera would trail up and go side to side to simulate recoil

TBH getting the same effect with impulses would be way easier. If we are talking gun recoil like the one OP is talking about we need something that will adjust the camera upwards and or side to side depending on what values we give it. That way we can F.E give an AK more muzzle climb/drift then an M16
