I wanna be able to build with smaller bricks but not have them colliding and leaving huge gaps.

if you already have bricks small enough, you're going to need an addon to allow bricks to be placed inside of bricks
do note that bricks saved this way will not load correctly, and may need an addon to load builds made this way, or to combine bricks into bigger ones and save that

Also keep in mind that bricks that are placed inside eachother will likely not have collision applied to them properly, you'll be able to walk through them sometimes.
