Author Topic: Tiger Knight: Empire War (dynasty warriors/mount and blade)  (Read 1809 times)

im too lazy to make a full topic, but this game is essentially a mix between dynasty warriors and mount and blade. its f2p, does a good job at not being p2w. you control a troop of soldiers, and can upgrade them with new equipment, skills, ect. you control a hero character, and can play conquest (pvp 5v5), siege (pvp 5v5), epic war (pve 5vE), or tdm (pvp 10v10 or something with no troops).

there are (currently) 3 factions and each specializes in different soldier types (wu: blunt heavy infantry, wei: spears, shu: cavalry and shield). the upgrade/leveling system is similar to world of tanks, fractured space, any of those types of games where you unlock equipment with xp and buy it with in game currency won from battles. you then choose what path you want to go down for that faction. you can switch between factions at your leisure.

this game isn't high quality by any means, but honestly its fun af (especially for a free game), and i love the similarities it has to mount and blade. if you can get past the horrible english and bad physics, its p fun. its constantly being updated too, the newest faction they are adding will be the romans, and theyll be doing faction balances. currently the shu faction is kinda borked so i wouldnt suggest playing them (i made this mistake, its manageable but def at a disadvantage in most team fights)

if anyone wants to play with your boy hmu, im only level 12, and my heighest soldier level is 3. leveling is p quick at the start

I can be a samurai? I'm sold.

I can be a samurai? I'm sold.
you can also kill yourself to avoid dishonoring yourself when you get downed :)

Was expecting it to be pretty bad, considering it came from China and is free.

But it's actually pretty good. The only 'pay to win' items are given to you in abundance, and aren't even really that special anyway (a bandage that heals 70 hp instead of 50, a different horse summon, and 'fire arrows' which I have never seen used ever.) These are now purchasable without using cash.  Bad translations and questionable voice acting aside, the game is actually pretty fun and overall a good experience.
The main contents of the game... being the adjutants, troops, upgrades, armor and weapons... are not even purchasable with cash. You must buy them with in-game currencies. Which of course, there's a 'VIP' system that lets you earn all that 30% faster. But that also means they're leveling up faster in all aspects. They're advancing faster, but are less practiced.

It really feels like what Dynasty Warriors should've been. You're a general. You're supposed to be commanding troops. And those troops are supposed to mean something.
These troops are not just glorified special fillers and loot boxes. In fact, defeating them only earns you points which don't affect the current match at all. But you still kill them, because they're enemies. They will hurt you. They will hurt your friends.

Top it off with multiplayer swordplay combat and you've got yourself a pretty neat game. Just never forget to shoot your allies with arrows and believe those numbers mean you're helping, especially in duel mode.

yeah the thing i like about the real currency items are that they really wont be a deciding factor in matches. can you level up faster with them? absolutely, but that doesn't effect the quality of the actual match. bandages and all that are also easily obtainable by f2p players

only big beef i have with this game right now is the gas bombs. idk what they were thinking when they implemented those lol

Wu Sailors in T3 are much, much more of a problem. This coming from someone who is currently using them.

Wait for blob. Triangle formation. F5. Watch their units melt.
