I don't really understand the extreme hype. I mean normal hype I get, but I mean, the game will probably be a 10/10 but it'' be sad when you finish it in only one day and then be done and wait for a 3 hour DLC campaign to come out in three months post release. Idk, seems loving great but also not the most thing to stay hyped for. Literally, it only takes on day to beat The Last of Us.
if you think length is the only metric for greatness then you need to adjust your grading

Chazzy if that's how you grade games then things like Destiny and The Division are probably all time greats to you, which have next to no substance and are a grind fest.

It never lowered grading, I literally said it will be 10/10 anyways. I'm just saying, it'll be like watching a movie.

And lol I do not like Destiny or The Division, oh god

the hype is around the game being good, not the game being engaging for a long time. its like hype over a book by a famous writer - even if the book is short its the want to see their new content that justifies/results in the hype.

tlou is just one of those rare games/potential series that has very engaging storytelling, quality gameplay, excellent aesthetic and atmosphere that makes it have all this hype around it. people really are just looking forward to more of the same (quality) so imo its not excessive hype thats unfounded.
